Renewal

"Education is the point at which we decide whether we love the world enough to assume responsibility for it and by the same token save it from ruin which, except for renewal, except for the coming of the new and young, would be inevitable. And education, too, is where we decide whether we love our children enough not to expel them from our world and leave them to their own devices, nor to strike from their hands their chance of undertaking something new, something unforeseen by us, but to prepare them in advance for the task of renewing a common world." -Hannah Arendt

We must take it upon ourselves to create the change that needs to happen in this world. I myself have stopped looking to politicians to change anything, because they are shackled to their own campaign, other leaders and corporate interests. I think that the people who are affected by the decisions of their leaders are truly the only ones who can change this world for the better, simply because they are the ones living in it.
People need to band together as a neighborhood to create how they want to live their lives together, and not listen to the money, the greed and altogether disrespect of the people that the corporations spew out of their campaigns. A way to start is to begin neighborhood gardens, live close to work, stop consuming everything and start PROVIDING for your local community. This is a healthier way to live, and maybe by doing this, we can ween ourselves of our dependence on others to do it for us at the cost of our lives, and our children's' lives.
